What Are CFM and FMP Credentials?

Members of the International Facility Management Association developed a voluntary certification program in order to create a definition of facilities management competence and a mechanism to measure that competence.

Facility Management Professional (FMP)

The Facility Management Professional (FMP) credential is designed for facility professionals looking to build and strengthen their knowledge and skills. It provides practical education across four key areas of facility management, Operations & Maintenance, Project Management, Finance & Business, and Leadership & Strategy, helping professionals build a strong foundation for career growth and future leadership opportunities.

Certified Facility Manager (CFM)

The Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential is an internationally recognized certification and a pinnacle achievement in a facility management career. Designed for experienced facility professionals, the CFM demonstrates expertise, leadership, and competency across the full spectrum of facility management. Earning the CFM can help professionals stand out in the industry, advance their careers, increase credibility, and stay competitive in an evolving profession.
